Rigging

15Mb Quicktime. Right click/ save target as to save the reel to your harddrive.

In my career I have rigged numerous characters, vehicles and objects. I have rigged everything from the very realistic to the extremely cartoony. Some of the games I have done extensive rigging for are Goblin Commander, Warhawk, Calling All Cars and more recently Snoopy: WWI Flying Ace. I take pride in creating rigs that are fun and easy to animate and hard to break.

These are a few of the more interesting rigs I have worked on recently. The tank was a fun challenge because they wanted the tread geometry to move; usually tank treads in games are moved by animating the texture because it is both cheaper and easier. The tornado was also a fun rig to create. The rig will allow the animators a lot of freedom; they can animate it using fk or ik spline controls (or both at the same time). The animators will have the opportunity to give the tornado real character if they wish. The snake boss is actually very similar to the tornado but with some added functionality. The spline ik can be animated from head to tail or reversed from tail to head. It can also be animated using fk or both fk and ik simultaneously if the animator prefers. If the animator wants to get really crazy, its even possible to animate the individual segments of the snake boss, you can get some really cool effects this way!

The animations are just some quick studies I did to test the rigs.

I hope to upload some of my character rigs soon!
